FORMER president Edgar Lungu has told the Constitutional Court that he never served two terms as alleged by youth activist Michelo Chizombe, who petitioned him over his eligibility to stand in future elections. Lungu has also told the ConCourt that Chizombe has no case because he could not rely on a dissenting judgement. In this matter, Chizombe wants a declaration that Lungu is not eligible to contest any future presidential elections. Chizombe, who also cited ECZ and the Attorney General as respondents, also wants the court to declare that Lungu’s participation in the August 2021 general elections was unconstitutional.
