THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has convicted Francis Kapwepwe, popularly known as “Why Me,” after he pleaded guilty to charges of hate speech. Kapwepwe admitted to the charges of hate speech when he took a fresh plea on Tuesday, stating that he had no lawful excuse for uttering offensive remarks directed at the Presidency and the Tonga-speaking people of Southern Province. In the first and second counts, Kapwepwe is charged with hate speech contrary to Section 65 of the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act No. 2 of 2021 of the Laws of Zambia.
