JUDGE-in charge of the Lusaka High Court Kelvin Limbani has urged the newly sworn-in members of the Local Government Petition Tribunal not to turn the courtroom into an extension of the campaign trail. Following the just ended election, Lusaka High Court received 41 petitions at parliamentary level. Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of the 108 members, Friday, Judge Limbani said it was now their role to determine the legal validity of the elections petitioned. “Accordingly, a dispute concerning a local government election is not a dispute of lesser constitutional importance.
