THE Zambia Music Copyright Protection Society (ZAMCOPS) says it has taken ZNBC to court as part of its stringent measures to recover royalties owed to artistes. ZAMCOPS Vice Board Chairperson Danny Mwikisa, popularly known as Danny Peddle, revealed that ZNBC, along with other media houses, had not been paying royalties voluntarily, prompting the society to take legal action to recover the funds. At its annual general meeting, Mwikisa revealed that the society collected K1,083,459 in royalties during the year under review, distributing K984,234 to its members.
