WOMEN’S national team coach Bruce Mwapa has named a 35-member provisional squad ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia. Making a return to the squad is midfielder Avell Chitundu who missed recent engagements to raise concerns from soccer fans after her brilliant exploits at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The enterprising midfielder has been in fine form, finding the back of the net 14 times in the 2023 Women’s National League campaign.
