FAZ has revealed that it paid former Chipolopolo coach Avram Grant a total of US$277,222.99, equivalent to K6,387,516 to facilitate a mutual termination of his contract. FAZ Head of Finance, Owen Buntele, disclosed that the settlement paid to Grant was funded through FIFA’s FIFA Forward project, which supports football development initiatives across member associations. Buntele explained that beyond the Grant settlement, FAZ had incurred significant expenditure amounting to K32,166,094.68 during the period under review. The funds were spent on various national team programmes, including the Under-17 boys’ and girls’ World Cup engagements, the CHAN tournament, the COSAFA Senior Women’s Championship, salaries for the senior women’s national team, and procurement of kits for all national teams.
