FORMER Zesco United chief executive officer Kelvin Mutafu has hit back at his former employers by describing the reasons given for his dismissal as an assault to his long-built football reputation. Breaking his silence following his March 2026 dismissal, Mutafu dismissed claims that he had been serving a short probationary contract. “The statement Zesco United issued that I failed a probationary period was an assault on my football reputation, which I suffered to build over many years through hard work and dedication,” he said. “I started at a very tender age of 30 years as Forest Rangers chairman and thereafter as treasurer of the Football Association of Zambia and later CEO at Nkana.
