PeP leader Sean Tembo has charged that the Minister of Religious Affairs Rev Godfridah Sumaili is trying to impose her personal values on the rest of Zambians by threatening that those who wish to purchase and use sex dolls would be arrested.

Responding to Rev Sumaila who said it was illegal in Zambian to procure and use sex dolls, Tembo said in a statement on Monday that it was a violation of both the Holy Bible and the Constitution for the minister to impose her personal values on citizens.

“As Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP), we wish to disagree with the statement by the Religious Affairs Minister that it is currently illegal for Zambians to procure and use sex dolls. As far as we are concerned, the use of a sex doll constitutes masturbation and much as masturbation might be morally wrong, depending on an individual’s religious affiliation, it is definitely not illegal,” he stated.

“What the Honourable Minister of Religious Affairs is trying to do by wrongly threatening those that wish to purchase sex dolls, is that she is trying to impose her personal values on the rest of our citizens, which is a violation of both the Holy Bible and our Republican Constitution, which encourage and protects an individual’s right to exercise free will. It must be noted that salvation is an individual choice and must not be imposed by the State.”

He encouraged Zambians who wanted to procure sex dolls to go ahead.

As Patriots for Economic Progress, we would like to encourage any Zambians that wish to procure sex dolls to proceed and do so. The Religious Affairs Minister’s statement on this matter must be disregarded with the contempt that it deserves. If the government wishes to ban sex dolls, vibrators or indeed any other instruments that are used for masturbation in this country, they must first amend the Republican Constitution,” Tembo sated.

He urged the PF government to avoid riding on the citizens lack of understanding of their constitutional rights.

“We further wish to remind the PF government to avoid riding on our citizens lack of understanding of their constitutional rights, to try and impose illegal restrictions on our rights and liberties. The concept of an individual citizen’s free will is one which is well recognised by not only our Republican Constitution, but also the Holy Bible. Therefore, Government officials such as the Honourable Minister of Religious Affairs must be reminded not to try and play God,” stated Tembo.
