The Drug Enforcement Commission has arrested Zambians for trafficking in over four kilograms of ephedrine.

According to a statement issued by DEC assistant public relations officer Kamufisa Manchishi, Thursday, the six were nabbed during an operation in Lusaka.

“Milton Fredrick Kapanda, 31, of House No. 3116 Mushili, in Ndola district has been arrested and jointly charged with five others for trafficking in 4.136 Kgs of ephedrine after a successful operation in Lusaka. A follow up operation was later conducted in Ndola leading to the interception of the drugs and additional suspects,” stated Manchishi.

“The suspects are identified as Davy Milambo Himakampa, 46, of Kansenshi, Chris Kakoma, 42, of Mushili and Bruno Simpemba, 43, of old Mushili in Ndola district while others include Maselo Victoria, 35, of Emmasdale area and Whiteson Mubambe, 63, of industrial area in Lusaka district.
All suspects are currently in Police custody and will appear in court soon.”
