Police in Southern Province have arrested a 36-year-old man of Kazungula District and charged him with the murder of his 62-year-old wife after a domestic dispute.
Southern Province Police Commissioner Bonny Kapeso disclosed this in a statement and explained that the couple had been married for two years, but had no children together.
“Police in Kazungula have arrested a-36 year-old man for killing his wife, aged 62, following a domestic dispute early hours of today. Masilingi Mashekabo of Mambova village in Chief Sekute’s area killed his wife by beating her using a paddling stick after a marital dispute. The deceased has been identified as Sarah Samapande of the same address. The couple is said to have been married for two years with no children between them. The incident occurred around 01:30 hours in Kazungula early this morning. Suspect has been charged with murder and will appear in court soon,” stated Kapeso.
