PF lawyer Tutwa Ngulube has wondered where the Court of Appeal drew its powers to grant a stay on High Court proceedings in a matter involving Bowman Lusambo and Joseph Malanji. In an ex-parte order dated September 16, the Court of Appeal ordered that the High Court proceedings under cause number 20222/HP/1327 be stayed. “Upon hearing the 1st applicant and reading the affidavit in support thereof: it is hereby ordered that the High Court proceedings under cause number 2022/HP/1327 be and are hereby stayed. And the inter-parte hearing of this application will be on the 22nd day of September 2022 at 14:30 hours,” it read.
