LUMEZI Independent member of parliament Munir Zulu will on October 5, this year, move a motion in Parliament to ask government to re-introduce meal allowances in public universities. This follows the Speaker’s move to approve the said motion for debate on that date. In a letter dated September 19, Tennieson Nyangu, signing on behalf of the Clerk of the National Assembly, informed Zulu that the Speaker had approved the motion for debate on October 5. “I am directed to refer to your letter dated 14th September 2022 in which you sought to introduce a Private Members’ Motion entitled: “Re-introduce meal allowances at public universities: That this House urges the government to reintroduce meal allowances at all public universities.” I wish...
