SOME beneficiaries have hailed Barrick Lumwana Mine located in Solwezi, North-Western Province, for undertaking various developmental projects in the area which have improved their livelihoods. The mine, which is specifically located in Kalumbila district, has so far carried out developmental projects in health, education, agri-business sectors, among others. Barrick Lumwana Mine has so far constructed Nkulumazhiba Rural Health Centre, renovated staff houses of the health facility, as well as connecting it to the national grid. The health facility which was commissioned by then vice-president Inonge Wina in 2021 was also used as a COVID-19 treatment centre at the peak of the pandemic.
