BUSINESS at Mokambo border in Mufulira came to a standstill yesterday following protests on the Congolese side by Congolese nationals over the death of a suspected criminal who was recently shot dead by the Zambia Police. The Anti-Robbery Squad in Mufulira on the Copperbelt recently gunned down a suspected Congolese national identified as John Kayombo in connection with a spate of aggravated robberies in the area. In an interview, Copperbelt commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba explained that the protest started after police refused to release the body of the criminal to his relatives.
