THE Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board (HELSB) says it recovered a total of K121.4 million under the student loan scheme in 2022 compared to K104.3 million in 2021. HELSB Acting Chief Executive officer Floyd Ndabulula has revealed that from the 69, 321 beneficiaries whose loans have since matured, only 14, 449 are paying back through the payroll systems.
