ZNBC Board Chairperson Jack Kalala says the board did not look at Berry Lwando’s political background when appointing him as Director General as their area of focus was his qualifications and competence. But Kalala says the board will not hesitate to part ways with any appointee who proves to be partisan. A video has gone viral in which some suspected UPND cadres have questioned Lwando’s appointment as Director General of the national broadcaster, accusing him of being a PF supporter. The cadres gave the ZNBC board up to Tuesday to revoke Lwando’s appointment. But in an interview, Kalala said what the board was looking for was someone who could contribute to the vision of transforming ZNBC and making it profitable....
