AS police officers were interrogating Socialist Party leader Fred M’membe yesterday, Inspector General of Police Graphel Musamba hosted a press briefing where he said the police service was carefully studying the ingredients of the former’s offence. Musamba said Dr M’membe’s utterances were aimed at inciting Zambians into civil disobedience. But shortly after Musamba’s briefing ended, his officers arrested and charged Dr M’membe for libel.
