THE Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development says government was compelled to terminate 197 contracts for the rehabilitation of feeder roads because there was an over commitment in excess of K12 billion. And the Ministry says the then Secretary to Treasury had confirmed the availability of funds to embark on the rehabilitation of the feeder roads. Meanwhile, the Ministry has explained why it has taken three years to fix about seven fire trucks which were damaged in road traffic accidents.
