GOVERNANCE activist Rueben Lifuka says the UPND government must consider adopting a more open and transparent model of identifying and appointing board chairpersons and members of statutory bodies and parastatals. And Lifuka has urged government to stop using boards as parking lots for political cadres. Last week, National Road Fund Agency (NRFA) Board Chairperson Avet Hamuwele and CEO Wallece Mumba were dismissed from their positions, a development that Finance Minister Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane confirmed but insisted that the pair’s departure from the agency was on mutual separation.
