PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has declared a national disaster and emergency in view of the drought that has hit the nation. The President says in order to respond to the devastating effects of the dry spell, government will among other measures ensure enhanced social protection and importation of electricity. President Hichilema has revealed that government will reduce its resource consumption by cutting down on ministers’ trips and reducing their delegation size.
