POLICE have arrested a 20-year-old male suspect after he bit and ripped off part of another man’s right ear following a dispute over stolen sunglasses. Western Division Commissioner of Police, Rae Hamoonga, says the victim, Njamba Kaunda, aged 27, was at his residence selling beer when he noticed the suspect, Kalyangu Nawa, wearing sunglasses believed to have been stolen from him. In a statement, Hamoonga said during the fight, the suspect allegedly bit and ripped off part of the victim’s right ear using his teeth, resulting in permanent disfigurement.
