MANDEVU constituency residents will no longer have to incur extra costs to transport the bodies of their loved ones to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) or Levy Mwanawasa University Teaching Hospital, following the construction of the first-ever mortuary in the area. For years, citizens have had to pay about K800 during the day and K1,000 at night just to transport bodies to distant facilities. A mortuary facility, currently nearing completion, is being constructed with financial support from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
