THE UPND has suspended 13 members in Mazabuka District for supporting independent candidate Gary Nkombo. UPND Southern Province Chairperson Billard Makwembo says the suspension will run for seven days, after which the party will decide whether to expel the members if they fail to exculpate themselves from allegations of supporting Nkombo. Yesterday, some Mazabuka Facebook pages reported that 13 UPND members had been suspended as part of internal disciplinary measures aimed at strengthening order and unity within the party’s structures.
