GOVERNMENT has declared a new cholera outbreak after recording 304 cases and 11 deaths across seven districts in five provinces as of September 29. Acting Health Minister Dr Gilbert Siame says the first case was confirmed on August 13 after a patient who had travelled from Chibombo District was admitted to Apollo Mini Hospital in Lusaka. Dr Siame has also revealed that eight of the 11 deaths occurred in communities.
