FORMER deputy Inspector General of Police Charity Katanga’s lawyer, Isaac Simbeye, says it will be up to the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) to prove his client guilty. And Simbeye says it’s unfortunate that law enforcement agencies have adopted a strategy of publicising arrests before going to court, arguing that people will lose confidence in them. DEC recently arrested Katanga for being in possession of property reasonably suspected to be proceeds of crime valued at over $2 million and K1.5 million.
