AGRICULTURE Minister Mtolo Phiri says government has spent over $369 million on fertilizer procurement for the 2022/2023 farming season. And Phiri has announced that farmers will start receiving their inputs today at the various depots across the country. He has also clarified that both new and old cooperatives will be allowed access to the inputs before the older members are graduated from the FISP programme. Updating the media on the Farmer Support Input Programme (FISP), Wednesday, Phiri said about 55 percent of the inputs had been distributed to the depots so far. “The total tonnage of fertilizer for the farming season is 307, 330.20 metric tonnes, of which 153,665.10 is Compound D and 153, 665.10 is Urea.
