THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) says the Nyatanda ward by-elections in Chavuma district will proceed as scheduled today. PF candidate for the Nyatanda ward by-elections Newstead Chitale recently said he had resigned from the race after being offered a job at the Ministry of Health. Meanwhile, PF Deputy Campaign Manager for the by-elections Enock Kapalu claimed that the UPND bought off Chitale by offering him a job as a cleaner under the Ministry of Health. The Patriotic Front, consequently, wrote to ECZ yesterday demanding immediate cancellation of the Nyatanda ward by-election slated for today.
