INTERNATIONAL Master (IM) Chitumbo Mwali has expressed disappointment following his first round elimination from the ongoing 2023 Chess World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan. Each round is played under a knock-out system, consisting of a two-game match. In the case of a tie, the players play a rapid and, if necessary, a blitz tiebreak until the winner is determined. Mwali lost both of his games to Turkish Grandmaster (GM) Mustafa Yilmaz.
