TRANSPARENCY International Zambia (TI-Z) Executive Director Maurice Nyambe says government should not be too quick to defend itself when stakeholders raise concerns on governance issues. And Commerce and Trade Minister Chipoka Mulenga says government will engage Swedish Ambassador to Zambia Johan Hallenborg in order to learn which state actors have solicited for any inducement which has in turn threatened Swedish investment. On Monday, Ambassador Hallenborg said Swedish companies were hesitating to invest in Zambia because of “pervasive” corruption, prompting them to move their investments elsewhere. But in response, Chief Government Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa challenged Hallenborg to back his allegations of corruption with evidence.
