Police in Kalabo have arrested a 36-year-old woman of Namutondo Village for allegedly stabbing her husband to death after a marital dispute.
In a statement, Wednesday, Katongo revealed that Nyambe Siteba had stabbed her husband, Kakoma Mutangala aged 39 of Nambo Village, Chief Namika in Kalabo District.
“We received a report of murder in which Female adult Nyambe Siteba aged 36 of Namutondo village, chief Libumbu of Mongu District allegedly murdered her husband after a marital dispute. The deceased has been identified as Kakoma Mutangala aged 39 of Nambo Village, Chief Namika of Kalabo District. The incident happened on 1st May 2018 at about 19 00 hours at Katongo area of Mongu District. The suspect is alleged to have stabbed her husband in the stomach using a knife hence sustaining a deep cut. The body is lying in Lewanika General Hospital mortuary awaiting postmoterm. The suspect is detained in Police custody,” Katongo stated.
And Katongo stated that a 56-year-od pedestrian had died on the spot after being hit by a motor vehicle in Mpongwe.
“In another development, a 56 year old male pedestrian identified as Enock Simapango of Nyereti village, Chief Kalunkamya of Mpongwe District died on the spot after he was hit by a motor vehicle Fuso Truck registration number ACR 1342 driven by Lewis Chanda aged 25 of Mpongwe in an accident which happened on 1st May, 2018 around 0430 hours along Luanshya – Mpongwe road,” stated Katongo.
“The accident happened when the pedestrian was crossing the road and in the process was hit by the oncoming motor vehicle. The body is in Mpongwe Hospital mortuary. Meanwhile, a female juvenile aged 12, died on the spot after she was hit by a Toyota Mark 11, registration number ALR 8834 driven by George Kalumba aged 25 of Winela area in Mongu District. The accident happened on 1st May 2018 at about 16 00 hours along Lusaka- Mongu road when the victim was crossing the road. The body is in Kaoma District Hospital mortuary.”
