THE Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) has denied claims that StarTimes controls 60 percent of its income, saying it controls all revenue it generates. The national broadcaster also says contrary to a News Diggers editorial claiming that Zambians don’t watch ZNBC, TV1 is actually the most-watched channel in all 10 provinces, according to the 2024 IPSOS report. Meanwhile, ZNBC says it is not funded by government and relies on two major income streams, being airtime sales 80 percent and the TV levy 20 percent.
