MINISTER of Finance Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane says since 2021, the Kwacha has only lost about five units, and this is not catastrophic. In an interview, Dr Musokotwane observed that the Kwacha had been fairly stable for most of 2024. “Well, I think the first comment I want to make is that the UPND government in the last three years has maintained a relatively stable exchange rate. If you consider the fact that in 2021, the worst that it ever came to was K22 before this government got into office. It was K22. Today, it is trading at K26, K27. That is a loss of five units.
