LUSAKA Magistrate Idah Phiri Mupemo on Friday rejected Chellah Tukuta’s application to skip trial as a witness in a matter involving Francis Kapwepwe, popularly known as ‘Why Me’. This was after Tukuta asked the Court to excuse him on May 12, because he would be out of the country for a presidential assignment. This followed after the prosecution made an application for an adjournment due to the absence of the witness on stand and the accused. In this matter, Kapwepwe is charged with two counts of hate speech and one count of expressing hatred, ridicule, or contempt for persons because of race, tribe, place of origin or colour.
