MINISTRY of Defence Permanent Secretary Maambo Haamaundu has urged military personnel in the country to ensure the safety of all voters so that the August elections can be held in a peaceful and free environment. Haamaundu says military personnel must work towards guarding the peace the country currently enjoys. According to a statement issued by Principal Public Relations Officer Paul Shalala, Haamaundu was speaking when he officiated at the 2026 United Nations Peacekeeping Day events at Army Headquarters in Lusaka yesterday. “Peaceful elections are the foundation of a strong and united nation.
