KIYONA Energy, a subsidiary of Zesco, has installed a 48-megawatt solar plant in Chongwe worth $38 million, which will supply power to Bauleni, Leopards Hill and State Lodge areas. Meanwhile, Kiyona, in partnership with China Xi, is also building a separate 10-megawatt solar plant in Chongwe at a cost of about $8 million.
