ECONOMIST Professor Lubinda Haabazoka says the reduction in the country’s external debt payments will free up resources, which can be used for public services and social programmes. Last week, Secretary to the Treasury Felix Nkulukusa said the country’s current external debt-service payments had reduced to approximately $900 million per annum due to debt restructuring.
