PARAMOUNT Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba-speaking people has called for increased financial support towards traditional leaders, in order for them to adequately carry out their responsibilities. Meanwhile, Paramount Chief Kalonga Gawa Undi of the Chewa-speaking people has urged citizens to store enough produce from this year’s harvest, following predictions that the country may experience a drought. Speaking when he officiated at the 2026 Kulamba Traditional Ceremony in Katete, Saturday, Chief Chitimukulu said government’s support towards traditional leaders remains inadequate compared to the responsibilities and aspirations of the leaders.
