JAMBO Milling Company says the Food Reserve Agency’s increased maize purchase won’t affect mealie meal prices. On Sunday, FRA disclosed that the Agency has purchased slightly over one million metric tonnes of maize from farmers, and paid out over K6 billion. Commenting on this in an interview, Monday, Company Manager Mcdonald Kampamba said with an expected national maize stock of about five million metric tonnes this year, FRA’s purchases represent only a small fraction of the total crop.
