THE Economic and Financial Crimes Court in Livingstone has sentenced a 34-year-old Assistant Accountant to three years imprisonment with hard labour, for diverting K316,000 CDF grants into his personal accounts. Sydney Silwimba, an assistant accountant at Livingstone City Council (LCC), pleaded guilty to 11 counts of Fraudulent False Accounting and 11 counts of Theft by Public Servant when he appeared before Honourable Andrew Mungala.
