UNITED Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights to Freedom of Assembly and Association Gina Romero has advised Zambian authorities to release all political detainees and restore democratic accountability. Romero says following the post-election period, violations of widespread arrest of opposition supporters and the concocted charges of treason against senior opposition alliance leadership set a dangerous precedent.
