The Football Association has shifted the venue of the international friendly match between Zambia and South Africa from Nkoloma stadium to National Heroes stadium.
The international friendly will be played on Saturday September 7th following the U-23 qualifier match which will be played on Wednesday September 4th.
It will be the first assignment for newly appointed South African coach Molefi Ntseki who was unveiled a week ago.
He had been a caretaker coach for ‘Bafana Bafana’ following the resignation of Stuart Baxter who called it quits following South Africa’s uninspiring performance at the 2019 AFCON.
The clash is being used by Zambia as part of preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers which commence in November with the Chipolopolo playing Algeria in the opening match.
The Football Association is selling tickets at as low as K10 in a bid to attract a larger crowd at the match.
One Response
I propose that the friendly game with South Africa be suspended indefinitely looking at how South Africans are currently treating our people and other fellow Africans in that country. Are we too blind to see that South Africans have no value and respect for fellow Africans? Why should we have a friendly match with a country whose citizens are hostile to us and all other fellow African brothers and citizens on the continent? Suspend the game and send a strong message to the leadership of South Africa to stop the xenophobic attacks against fellow Afrincans before we can host a game on our soil.
