Defender Adrian Chama has observed that the Chipolopolo boys have a trend of losing concentration in the final minutes of the games.

Chama made the observations following the international friendly matches that Chipolopolo played against Niger and Benin where Zambia recorded draws after leading comfortably for several minutes.

Zambia drew one all against Niger on 10th October after they conceded in the 87th minute and drew two all in the second friendly match against Benin after conceding in the 90th minute.

When asked to explain what transpired in the two matches, Chama, a Zesco United Defender said the team approached the match casually in the dying minutes.

“The game was ok. It was a good practicing match for us and we did our part. Going forward, we will work on the mistakes we made during the match. Like you said the team that played the first half was the team that will play against eSwatini in the CHAN confederations cup and we scored first, that gave us confidence that we can score in the match. I wouldn’t say it was the back line. I would say we conceded as a whole, and so I would say as a team we are losing a bit of concentration because in the Niger game we conceded in the 87th and in the Benin game we conceded in the 90th minute so as a team we just (need) to work on those lapses we are making in the last parts of the game,” he explained.

“The game against Eswatini is very important for us especially as local players. Our target as players is to make a third appearance at the CHAN tournament next year in Cameroon. To our fans always come in number as you know playing at Heroes stadium we have never lost because the crowd is always cheering us on.”
