ZAMBIA Consumer Association (ZACA) Executive Secretary Juba Sakala says the rise in the inflation rate will negatively affect consumers, in that money has been devalued. ZAMSTATS recently announced that the annual inflation rate for the month of April 2023 had increased to 10.2 percent from 9.9 percent in March 2023. In an interview, Tuesday, Sakala said he expected consumers to feel the effects of the increase. “You know, when the inflation is going up, as it is at the double digits, we expect the consumers down there to feel the effects because inflation means the rise of prices of basic essential commodities going up isn’t it?
