KONKOLA Copper Mines (KCM) has officially reopened the Chingola “B” Mine, 18 years after operations ceased. In a statement released by Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Dr John Kunda, Thursday, KCM Group Chief Executive Officer Deshnee Naidoo said the mine is projected to produce more than 200,000 tonnes of ore per month. “Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) has officially reopened the Chingola ‘B’ Mine, 18 years after operations ceased, marking a major milestone in the company’s growth strategy and Zambia’s drive to expand copper production.
