EZRA Group, a Zambian-registered company, has commenced the construction of a 400MW coal power plant worth $561 million in Sinazeze, Sinazongwe District. EZRA Group CEO Meron Tekie Ezra says the project is set to be completed in December 2029, explaining that it will be implemented in two phases, with the first 200MW to be commissioned by the end of 2027. Meanwhile, ZESCO Chief Operating Officer Fitzpatrick Kapepe says the utility company is building an energy-resilient nation.
