THE Lusaka High Court has dismissed a case in which President Hakainde Hichilema’s Political Advisor Levy Ngoma and UPND’s Trevor Mwiinde sued Emmanuel Jay Banda and three others for defamation. Judge Ruth Chibbabbuka ruled that the action was not properly commenced and that she has no jurisdiction to entertain it. Ngoma and UPND Deputy National Youth Chairperson Trevor Mwiinde sued Banda, who is Petauke Central Independent MP, Zambian Whistle Blower owner Thomas Allan Zgambo, NDC leader Saboi Imboela, and her PeP counterpart Sean Tembo, seeking among other reliefs, compensatory damages for defamation of character.
