A LUSAKA couple has dragged Pearl of Health Clinic Limited and its resident gynaecologist to the High Court, demanding K3,500,000 in damages for negligence, breach of duty of care and “unwelcome sexual advances”. Alice Makani Vantra and Ismail Vantra, who have sued the clinic and Dr Reward Sibanda, a registered gynaecologist at the facility, are seeking damages for mental anguish, alleging that the doctor violated Alice’s dignity and privacy by stimulating her private parts without consent. According to the claim, in June 2022, Alice first visited the hospital for antenatal care, but the issue escalated in August 2024 when she returned to the hospital seeking family planning advice.
