THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has denied bail to former intelligence chief director Xavier Chungu following instructions issued by Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Gilbert Phiri. Chungu is charged with the offences of communication of certain information, seditious practices and publication or disclosure of information to an unauthorised person. In count one, Chungu is charged with the offence of communication of certain information contrary to section 4(4) of the State Security Act, Chapter 111 of the Laws of Zambia.
