THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has denied bail pending trial to an Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) prosecutor, stating that he is a “substantial flight risk” who fabricated his mother’s funeral to evade arrest. Elias Simfukwe, 30, a resident of Chalala area, is accused of stealing K20,000 cash from the ACC exhibits office, which came into his possession by virtue of his employment. In count one, Simfukwe is charged with the offence of theft by public servant contrary to sections 272 and 277 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
