Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda is excited to see striker Patson Daka back in action and in time for next week’s home clash against Cameroon.
Daka returned to competitive action on Monday at his Austrian base following a one month injury layoff that saw him miss Zambia’s penultimate 2018 FIFA World Cup Group B qualifier against Nigeria on October 7 that Chipolopolo lost 1-0 away in Uyo.
“Patson’s recovery has really excited me. We missed his services in Uyo,” Nyirenda said.
“We need to consolidate the team we have built each day. This must not be stopped. We must be on the lookout for talent all times and integrate them in timely.”
Meanwhile, Zambia enter camp in Ndola on November 4 ahead of the November 11 Group B formality match against Cameroon at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Second placed Zambia and 3rd positioned Cameroon will battle for a honourable runners-up finish in Group B after Nigeria clinched the 2018 Moscow finals ticket on an unassailable 13 points following last month’s win over Chipolopolo.
Zambia and Cameroon have 7 and 6 points respectively heading into their closing match.
